Entry #5: Big idea
September 29, 2010
In Mob , there were many themes and big ideas. The first big idea I came across was that life goes around quick, so you got to live it up to the fullest. The second theme of Charlotte’s Web, was that out of bad things comes good things. The last and most important big idea I got from Charlotte’s Web, was that everyone needs a friend.
I say live life to the fullest because life runs by your eyes so quick you never knew it was coming. An example of that is simply Wilbur. Wilbur was born on page one, first he was treated as a new born baby, drank milk from a bottle and pushed around in a baby carriage. Within a short period of time he became bigger, he chose to lie around, and not do much of his life. Because he never realized when you die there’s no coming back no second chance.
Out of bad things come good things. In relation to Charlotte’s Web in order for something good happening to Wilbur something bad had to happen first. An example of this was when Wilbur got shipped to Ferns uncle, which is safe to say was pretty bad, because Wilbur was going to be farther away from Fern. In a result to this Wilbur finds a friend named Charlotte, which he is able to talk to and learn from.
Last everyone needs a friend. According to Charlottes Web if it wasn’t for the single fact that Wilbur had Charlotte has a friend he would be no different from bacon or pork chops on the Zuckerman’s plate. Despite the hard thinking and gaps in the rode charlotte never gave up, even when hope was forgotten she never lost sight. Charlotte was a true friend.
Reading Charlotte’s web made me think besides the big ideas and themes. It asked me a question if it was really right to kill animals? There very much like us, they eat, they sleep, and they live.
